GOODBYE for now

This is the official last post for Grandl1ne (As a practical assessment), after 8 plus weeks this SEO module has taught be a lot of lessons that I could use if I had a real an actual SEO consultation firm. With all my exams and the SEO test fast approaching I doubt I will have the time to continue on with this blog therefore this is good-bye. I hope to one day return to this blog and/or SEO lessons for guidance. thank you and goodbye

be S.M.A.R.T

The last lesson I learnt to help with the optimisation of websites on search engines isn't for websites but rather to help the business overall. S.M.A.R.T. (which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relatable and Time) goals and objectives are used by the business that they know what they are working towards and exactly how fast they should be working towards these goals and objectives. As much as these goals and objectives are for the growing the business, these SEO consultations use them as a guide to achieve their own goals that may relate to the businesses goals for example if the business has the goal of increasing sales we as a consultation firm have the job of coming up with ways to generate more traffic to the website so that the business gains new customers while simultaneously ensuring that the user experience is enjoyable so that customers return. this will contribute to sales which will in turn contribute to the business reaching its respective S.M.A.R.T. goals...

The KEYWORD being optimisation

As a SEO student I continue to learn new ways to optimise websites on and off-page. One of the more important ways is to use keywords. In order to utilise keywords you as a business first have to examine what are the relevant keywords that can be used as a link to your business. After finding the keywords you need you now need to integrate those keywords in the form of headings and/or titles. By using keywords it  makes your website way more noticeable by searchers, this leads to more traffic going into your website and a higher chance of reaching your intended target market. Aside from creating a link keywords also help to enhance the users experience as keywords make it easier for users to find what they are in search for. all this tells me that as a Grandl1ne SEO consultation I should be prioritising keywords for the benefits of potential customers.

On a personal note

This week was mid-semester recess, which meant no SEO lessons. During my break I went back to Pretoria to spend some time with family and some friends. On the first day of recess I decided it was finally time for me to get my official drivers license so I went to the traffic department to pick it up, this was an exciting milestone moment in my adulthood which was celebrated with a cake and many gifts. Majority of my recess was spent at home with my family where we sat together and bonded. On Thursdays as my recess was drawing to an end I decided to show off my driving skills by picking up on of my friends and using the day as an opportunity to do some catching up and indulging in some food. I enjoyed recess and can’t wait for the year to end

Be on-page

This week I learnt that there’s one of two ways to optimise your website. On-page optimisation and off page optimisation. On page optimisation includes the steps that can be taken to make improve the content of your website so that it is better suited for your potential customers. On-page optimisation focuses     on improving the websites official ranking on search engines. The higher you are ranked the more traffic into your website which is good. On-page is more important

Linking Lessons

I recently wrote an Economics test (on Monday). while I was preparing and studying for the test I realised how both SEO and economics can be used together and used to the advantage of businesses, SEO focuses on helping the business grow through the businesses website by generating traffic and therefore increasing customers and sales. Economics focuses on how the business will use its resources to grow in a more physical space as opposed to the online space of SEO. When these two work together they create a strategic way for the business use their resources in a way that will help the business grow and obtain more online and offline customers and increase sales. SEO and economics could help businesses strive towards their success

Spiders-of-the-web

Search spiders of as they are more formally known Web crawlers are this weeks SEO lesson, search spiders are as the name suggests software designed to scour websites in order to examine the contents of the website. This will help search engines by providing these websites as results when someone searches for something that can be answered by the contents of the website. The software might be an aid for helping search engines look for the relevance within websites at a faster pace but web crawlers also aid SEO consultation firms as it tells us as a firm how well the website is formatted and how easy it would be to find the website based on search results relating to the contents of our website. As a SEO student and a consultation firm I feel search spiders should be used as an indicator as to what needs to be done to optimise websites
